Counselor

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself! My name is Priscilla Dobson, and I am serving as the 2026-2027 school counselor at White Plains Elementary. I feel fortunate to be part of the White Plains community, as it is apparent how welcoming everyone is along with the positive energy.

At a young age, I confidently knew I wanted to be an educator. Often I would play school with friends and insist on being the teacher! Years later, after beginning my professional career as a teacher, I then felt called to focus more on advocacy.I earned further degrees in Community Agency Counseling and School Counseling.

Most recently, I have worked as an international school counselor. I had the privilege of learning about different cultures while also traveling extensively in Asia, Europe, and Africa. I was grateful for the opportunity to learn from others in different parts of the world and the challenges I faced living abroad. Often, it is the challenges we face in life where personal growth and a deeper understanding of self can flourish.

My role at White Plains Elementary will focus primarily on supporting children with their personal, social, and emotional development. I will meet with students in small groups, individually, and in classroom settings. Additionally, I will be collaborating with parents and teachers.
